Enku Privacy Policy

Enku (“we”, “us”) is a dating and marriage-intent app for Ethiopian and Eritrean (Habesha) singles. Contact: help@enku.app · Telegram @enku_support.

What we collect

• Account identifiers (phone and/or email) via our auth provider
• Profile data you provide (name, birth date, city, languages, optional faith with separate consent, photos, voice intro)
• Safety signals (reports, blocks, moderation actions) and basic product analytics without message contents in error logs
• Purchase/entitlement status via Apple/Google and RevenueCat — we never collect card numbers

What we do not collect

• Exact GPS coordinates (location permissions are blocked)
• Raw government ID images or selfie biometrics archives — verification keeps provider references only
• Service-role or admin secrets on devices

Why we process data

To create accounts, match you thoughtfully, power chat and safety tools, enforce the 18+ age gate, prevent abuse, and comply with law (including Ethiopia’s Personal Data Protection Proclamation 1321/2024, GDPR/UK GDPR where applicable, and CCPA for California residents).

Special-category data

Religion/faith on a profile is optional and requires a separate explicit consent, not bundled into general terms acceptance.

Sharing

We use processors such as Supabase (auth/database), Cloudflare (media), Sentry (crash reports with PII scrubbing), RevenueCat and the app stores (payments), and SMS/email providers for OTP. We do not sell personal data.

Retention & your rights

You can export your data and delete your account in Settings. Reports and moderation history are retained in anonymized/append-only form to stop repeat abuse. You may request access, correction, portability, or deletion via help@enku.app.

Children

Enku is 18+ only. Under-18 accounts are not permitted; birth date is enforced server-side.

International transfers

Data may be processed outside Ethiopia. We document transfer bases with counsel before public launch.

We will update this page and the in-app link when the policy changes materially.
